Mary J. Witmer, 85, formerly of Quarryville, PA, was born March 25, 1932 in Landenberg, PA, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 26, 2017 in Fort Mill, SC.
She and her late husband, Charles, were married for 63 years; they lived in Quarryville, PA, for 62 years before moving to South Carolina in 2016.
She is survived by her children, David (and wife, Robin), Phyllis (and husband, Robert), Ken (and wife Alicia), six grandchildren (Erin, Shelby, Kellie, Ryan, Jonathan and Katelyn) and four great-grandchildren.
Mary graduated from Oxford High School; her career included working for WGAL, Cla-Mart's Flowers and Gifts, Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital, and Manheim Auto Auction.
She was a faithful, involved member of Memorial United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and Farm Women #31. She hosted church youth meetings, and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and at the Quarryville Public Library.
While she will be greatly missed, the family finds comfort in knowing that she is now with the LORD Jesus Christ.
