Mary Ruth Blackwell Workman

Rock Hill, SC - Mrs. Mary Ruth Blackwell Workman, 94, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Chandler Place Assisted Living in Rock Hill, SC.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Workman was the only child of William and Corrie Dunn Blackwell.  She worked for many years in the textile industry and enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.  She was the widow of Crawford (C.W.) Workman.  They were married for 66 years.

Mary Ruth was the beloved matriarch of a very large family.  Surviving are her son, Steven W. Workman (Dianne), and her daughter, Deborah Workman McDaniel (Doug) all of Rock Hill.  She had seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Workman Davis (Jim) and her son, Russell Lee Workman.

There will be a private graveside service announced at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The American Cancer Society.
