Mary Lou Hartis

Mary Lou Hartis (Thuman), 87, of Fort Mill, S.C., formerly of Buffalo, N.Y. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

Mary Lou was an avid reader and passed on the love of books to her daughters and nieces.  She always relished time spent with family and friends and especially enjoyed weekends when we could watch football. The last 2 years of her life were spent at Wellmore of Tega Cay in their assisted living section where she received excellent care and enjoyed opportunities to socialize.  One of her favorite activities was attending the weekly Trivia game held for residents.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Luella; Father, Isadore; Husband, John Theobald; Husband, Frontis Hartis and Sister, Elizabeth Peterson.

Daughter, Cheryl Bivins of Fort Mill, SC

Granddaughters, Brittany Bivins of Rock Hill, SC; Leanne Daniels or Athens, GA; Christian Daniels Blackwell, her Husband, Antwan and children Adrianna and Davion of Athens, GA; and Erica Bivins and Son, Kayden White of Fountain Inn, SC

Niece, Beth Ann McCarraher and her Husband Fran of N. Tonawanda, NY

Nephew, Carl Peterson, Jr. of Arcadia, FL

A private service at Lake Wylie and Lake Wateree will be held in the Spring by Mary Lou’s daughters and their immediate family members.
