Mr. Mason Sexton, 85, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Sexton will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home at 11:00am with Pastor Ronnie Helms officiating. Interment will follow the service in Laurelwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Born February 18, 1925 in Rock Hill, Mason was the son of the late Jim "Son" Sexton and late Katie Harper Sexton. He was retired after 43 years of service at The Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company where he worked in the Grier Division. He was a member of The Salvation Army. He loved his family and friends dearly, welcoming everyone with a smile and loving hello. He had a great passion for growing his vegetable garden and sharing his harvest with everyone around him. He was an avid square dancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Naomi Webb Sexton. He is survived by his nephew Richard Cornwell of Rock Hill and niece Cindy Black of Lancaster, SC (both of whom he reared), his loving companion, Roxie Rector of Rock Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Sexton to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
