Masoud Pour-Rastegar, 93, of Lake Wylie, formerly of Iran, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2020 following a period of declining health.
He was born on March 27, 1927, to the late Hossein Pour-Rastegar and Sanieh Javaheri.
Masoud had been a Colonel in the Army and a veterinarian for the cavalry horses before obtaining a PhD in molecular biology.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Saeideh Marzban, brother Homayoun, and sisters Pooran and Pari.
Those left to cherish his memory include sons Hassan Pour-Rastegar and wife Terri, Kamaran Pour-Rastegar and wife Fereshteh, and Mahyar Pour-Rastegar and wife Afshan; his daughter, Sousan and husband Behrooz; grandchildren; Ali, Behrang, Behnam, Azita, Arian, Matis; and great-granddaughter, Alia; his brother Houshang and sister Gila; an countless nieces and nephews.
A private burial will take place on Friday, November 13, 2020 at River Hills Cemetery, Lake Wylie, SC.
