Melvin Robinson, Jr.

Rock Hill - Mr. Melvin Robinson, Jr., 82, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Whitesell Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Collins officiating.. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

A native of Jefferson, SC Mr. Robinson was a son of the late Melvin Robinson, Sr. and May Eubanks Robinson. He retired from the Bleachery after serving for over 50 years. He was owner of Robinson Backhoe Services and he also worked in the Septic Tank Business and the Trash pick-up business. He was also employed at Westminster Catawba Church. He was a Navy Veteran where he served his country for 4 years. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge 385 of Rock Hill. He was also a member of Woodvale Baptist Church where he served for 50 years and was a lifetime Deacon. He enjoyed his family, church, church family. He also enjoyed the beach and camping.

Surviving are his wife, Delia Hucks Robinson; four sons, Max and Debi Robinson of Rock Hill, Alan Robinson of Rock Hill, Jeff and Suzanne Robinson of Rock Hill and Van Robinson of Rock Hill; a brother, John Robinson of Rock Hill; a sister, Jean Outen or Matthews, NC; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
