Meredith Louise (Tomlet) Scala

Meredith Louise Scala (Tomlet), 44, of Fort Mill, S.C., formerly of Ridge, N.Y. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Outgoing by nature, Meredith would engage in conversations with people battling cancer and made many friends along her journey. She relished time spent entertaining family and friends. She adored her daughter, Sophia, her 3 nieces and 2 nephews.  Born and raised on Long Island NY and recently moved to Fort Mill S.C. Meredith was a dedicated pre-school teacher, of almost 20 years, and loved all of the children she taught.  She enjoyed family vacations, especially going to Lancaster PA, where she felt a sense of calmness.  Meredith was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Rocky Point NY, helping with Sunday School classes and also helping with cleaning the sanctuary after services.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Alison Tomlet.

Sister Corinne Sferrazza of Fort Mill S.C.

Brother-in-law Joe Sferrazza of Fort Mill S.C.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Palmetto Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill.

Those who are not able to attend the service may join our service virtually by liking and following the Palmetto Funeral Group Facebook Page. The service will be live streamed at 2:00PM on Thursday.

The family will hold a celebration of life service in N.Y. at a later date.
