Michael Anthony Jones of Rock Hill, SC was born on November 5th, 1961, In Tuskegee Alabama.
To the late Joe and Nadine Williams of Little River, SC.
On Friday February 11th, 2022, Our King was called home. He departed this life peacefully among his loving family.
Michael spent most of his life in Passaic, NJ and relocated to Rock Hill, SC in 2016. He attended Passaic County Tech Institute of Wayne, NJ.
Prior to his relocation to Rock Hill, Michael was employed as an Interstate Truck Driver for over 15 years at various trucking companies. Before his retirement, He was employed by YFC Trucking of Charlotte, NC. He loved driving and was known for his immaculate mapping skills.
Michael and Sylvia Jones (Wife) met in 1986 and were married for 36 years. They had 2 children together, Myeasha McCain and Michael Jones Jr. He also had a stepson, Lamont McCain.
Michael was a firm believer in peace, love, and family. His insight on Black Culture was unmatched and he wanted everyone around him to know how important it was for you to know yourself and stand in that truth.
He always gave sound advice and spoke from the heart, no matter the situation.
He was a huge fan of the Martial Arts and was our go to for all types of movies, whether they were drama, action, or comedies (If Michael didn’t approve, we didn’t watch it.)
Michael enjoyed being with his family at gatherings or just being in good company of those that he held close to his heart. He loved to read books about self-awareness and listened to all forms of music, his favorite music genre was reggae. Bob Marley and Steel Pulse were among his favorite artists. Michael was also a huge fan of the artist formerly known as Prince.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Myeasha McCain, sons, Michael Jones Jr., Lamont McCain (Latasha), and wife Sylvia Jones. Sisters; Shirley A. Brantley (passed), Mary Lois Mosley (Clarence) of Rock Hill, SC, Debra J. Williams of Little River, SC. Brothers; Joe L. Williams Jr. (Rita) of Little River, SC James Williams, (Gina) of Michigan. Michael was a proud Grandfather of 4 Grandchildren, Karter Alexander Sams, Jenee McCain, Amir McCain, Nyla McCain.
He was affectionately known as Uncle Michael to his Nieces and Nephews; Nicole Cunningham (Bruce) Tiffanie Olivero, Kelvin Brantley, Jr., Charles Williamson, Jr., Justin Williams, Najee Waters.
Michael was also a Great-Uncle of 4, Mizani Cunningham and Bryce Cunningham, Kayleb Olivero, Nathan Flores. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends throughout the United States.
Michael was loved by everyone that knew him. He lived his life full of laughter, love and his out of this world humor. He showed love and light to whomever he befriended and treated them with kindness and respect. Michael’s legacy of Peace and Love will be carried on forever and he will be truly missed.
