Lake Wylie, SC – Mr. Michael Joseph Goheen, 84, was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Services will be private at St. Petronille’s, Glen Ellyn, IL.
A native of Chicago, IL, Mike was the son of the late Patrick Goheen and Elizabeth Stevens Goheen. He graduated from DePaul University Academy in 1955. He married Linda Lee on October 17, 1959, and they were married for 62 years. For 38 years he was employed by Commonweath Edison, Lombard, IL where he held a supervisory role. He will be remembered as a very sweet, kind, and loving man who had a huge heart. His passion was his family and he loved and adored them more than anything else. He was a man who was always looking forward to the next holiday, family event, or Sunday night dinner. He cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He had a magnetic and contagious smile with eyes that would light up when he walked into the room. He enjoyed golfing and was a loyal Chicago Bears fan. He was known as a faithful protector of his family and loved ones and had a devoted interest in anything that his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren enjoyed. Those who loved him most will always long for that “I love you, too” one more time.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Lee Goheen: four children; Michelle McCarthy (Brian), Martin Goheen (Dana), David Goheen (Patricia) and Kevin Goheen: nine grandchildren; Melissa Jalowiec (Chris), Michael McCarthy (Allyssa), Ryan Goheen (Geneva), Colleen Schulgen, Meghan Arnold (Jeremy), Daniel Goheen (Kasie), Benjamin McCarthy, Joseph Goheen (Stacey), and James Goheen: fourteen great-grandchildren; Geniya Schuyler, Michael Schuyler, Dominic Shafer, Aubry Schulgen, Elijah Shafer, Rylee McCarthy, Charlotte Goheen, Jaxon McCarthy, Braeden Schulgen, Berklee Arnold, Robin Goheen, Lux Goheen, Wyatt Arnold and Ivy Goheen, and many loving nieces and nephews.
