ROCK HILL - Michael Kent Meade, 67, of 731 Hill Crest Lane, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Pineville.

Memorial services will be 4:30 PM Wednesday, at Lakewood Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM until the service at the church.
A private burial will be held at a later date in Banner Elk, N.C.

Mike was born in Huntington,W.V. in 1946 and was the son of the late Bredell Meade and Louise Wilson. He moved to Rock Hill, SC in 1966 and married the love of his life Fran, in 1968.
He fought a two year battle with grace and courage knowing there was a better life awaiting him. Mike was a loving son, husband, father, brother and faithful friend.

He had a variety of jobs until he landed the job that he would stay with until his death. He worked at Snipes Company of Rock Hill for 22 plus years doing what he loved best, which was selling to, and talking with numerous people, whom ended up loving him. Mike will be remembered most for his stylish look, and gift to talk and make friends.

Surviving are his mother, Louis Meade Wilson; his sons, Michael Meade Jr. and Kevin Meade; his sisters Janet Caulder, Pam Plemons and Debra Lewis; and his brother Jack Mead. He has 4 grandsons and numerous Nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife Sandra "Fran" Meade; his father Bredell Meade; and his sister Teresa Chanarksingh.

The family has requested that instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Levine & Dickson Hospice Home.
