Mikel Paul Wilkinson

Mikel Wilkinson, age 24, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in an automobile
accident along I-77 South in Fairfield County, SC. Mikel was born in Lancaster, SC a
son of Wayne and Teresa Wilkinson. Mikel graduated from Nation Ford High School, in
Fort Mill, in 2012. Mikel was presently enrolled at York Technical College and worked
full time for D&W Pest Solutions. His goal was to attend Clemson University to study
Civil Engineering. Mikel played youth baseball growing up. He loved the NY Yankees,
the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Clemson Tigers. He enjoyed skating the streets of
Charlotte with his friends. Earlier this year he rekindled his passion for golf and was
finding the natural swing of his pre-baseball youth.
Survivors include his sister Amanda Wilkinson-Garcia, brother-in-law Miguel Garcia,
nephew Lucas Garcia and niece Emma Garcia of Charlotte, NC; his brothers Jeffrey
Wilkinson of Columbia, SC and Noah Wilkinson of Fort Mill, SC along with his parents
Wayne Wilkinson of Fort Mill & Teresa Wilkinson of York, SC.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon September 29, 2018 at 6:00 PM at
the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service
starting at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. They will also be receiving friends afterwards
from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at 1183 Spicewood Pines Road, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
