Mildred A. "Millie" Benfield

Mildred "Millie" A. Benfield, 87, of Rock Hill, SC went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ December 13, 2016. Born Georgie Mildred Aycock of Monroe, NC in 1929, she was 1 of 5 children born to the late Ellis C. and Georgie H. Aycock of Monroe, NC. Millie was employed for a short time by Kroehler Mills in Charlotte, NC. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Clover, SC for over 30 years and also an active participant of the Gold Club within the church. Millie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce B. Benfield, Sr., her 3 brothers, her eldest daughter Vickie S. Rickard, her daughter-in-lawRosie H. Stewart, and 2 Grandchildren. She is survived by her first husband David E. Stewart, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, son Ron Stewart of Waxhaw, NC, daughter Sandy S. Valletta and husband, John, of Rock Hill, SC, daughter Ann S. McIntosh and husband, Ed, of Midland, NC, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and sister Janice Nash of Norwood, NC. Her life was highly devoted to her family whom she loved and served faithfully as wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker extraordinaire. A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Clover, SC on December 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Alzheimer's Association.
