Mildred "Mickey" Marie (Gardner) Campbell

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mildred “Mickey” Marie (Gardner) Campbell, age 94, on 06-11-2024 in Sarasota, Florida. Mickey was born on 07-14-1929 in Aurora, Illinois and was raised in Geneva, IL. She worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell, a cafeteria worker for Troy School District, and a clerk at Sarasota County Health Department. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Mickey enjoyed ceramics, crafts, woodworking and loved anything to do with animals. She is survived by her children Lorna Combs (Ron Combs), Chris Campbell (Connie Campbell), and Arlene Sunderlage (Trevor Sunderlage). Some of her favorite memories are times spent with her 7 beautiful grandchildren: Jared Combs, Daniel Combs, Jordan Campbell, Alexis Sunderlage, Valerie Campbell, Caroline Sunderlage, and Andrew Sunderlage. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Campbell; parents, Margaret and Irving Gardner; brother, Arnold Gardner, and many close relatives and friends. She was full of life, loved the Lord, never met a stranger and adored spending time with her family. She touched many hearts over many years. We all feel so grateful for the time spent with her laughing about memories, sharing a beer, or searching out the next great adventure!

We come together to celebrate her joy filled life! Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, June 22 at 9:30am. Location- St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road E, Fort Mill, SC 29715. Mass will be live streamed on the church's website ( saintphilipneri.org ) and will remain available for 30 days. Burial will take place on Friday, June 28th at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park located at 23060 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois 60431. Luncheon to follow.
