Nancy Janes Mcfadden Windell

Nancy Jane McFadden Windell, 90, of Rock Hill passed away June 17, 2017. Born Feb. 17, 1927 to the late Ruth Williams and Alexander Black McFadden, she was preceded in death by her husband, Al Windell. Survivors include five children Butch, Jimmy (Nan Mask), Jane Rawls (Marty), and Rick all of Rock Hill, Charlie (Jo) of Rotorua, New Zealand, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Nancy was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, worked in the office over 34 years at the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing, served as a sales representative for World Book Encyclopedia, substitute taught at Northwestern High School and volunteered over 25 years at Northwestern. In 1988 she was selected as the RH School District Volunteer of the Year. Born and raised in Rock Hill, she was a charter member of Oakland Baptist Church and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Alexander Templeton Black, the founding father of Rock Hill who donated the land which established the original boundaries of the town. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 20 at 4:00 pm at Oakland Baptist Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the service in the Family Life Center and other times at the home of Jane and Marty Rawls, 2151 Chickasaw Loop. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Preschool Ministry, Oakland Baptist Church 1067 Oakland Ave Rock Hill SC 29732.
