Nettie Blackwell

Nettie Virginia Blackwell, age 78, passed away August 28, 2015. She was born in Rutherfordton, NC and recently resided in Fort Mill, SC. She was preceded in death by her father Alonzo Flynn and her mother Maggie Noblitt Flynn and 9 siblings and 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Blackwell was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to bake and cook. She retired from Lance.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Elijah Blackwell Jr. and her five children- Elijah H. Blackwell (Nina) of Fort Mill, Annette Broome (Shane) of Fort Mill, Renee Lewis of Fort Mill, Tammy Loudermelt ( Randy) of Charlotte, and Maria Morris (Jon) of Fort Mill; brother Rev. Paul Flynn (Pauline) of Cleveland, GA; sisters- Opal Pittman of Fort Mill, Irene Boone of Forest City, and Wanda Greene (C.B.) of Mooresboro; nine grandchildren- Benjamin Watson, Emily Gaines, Amber Lewis, Nicholas and Jonathan King, Maggie and Kendall Totherow, Sunovia Blackwell, and Aiden Morris; and six great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kym and Vivian from Medi Home Hospice for the care of Mrs. Blackwell.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 31st at 3PM at Palmetto Funeral Home of Fort Mill with Rev. Paul Flynn and Chaplain Vivian Hart officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be following the service at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.
