Mrs. Nettie Louise Walker-O’Reggio was the daughter of the Mr. Louis “Gus” and Mrs. Earline H. walker. She was born October 10, 1951. Nettie answered her call to the Almighty and Creator on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Nettie was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Winston W. O’Reggio on June 1, 1994.

Nettie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Friendship African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Reverend Baylor. While she later moved her membership, her love for her local church remained steadfast.

Nettie attended Laing Elementary and Laing High School. She graduated from General William Moultrie High School in 1969. She was also a graduate of Borough of Manhattan Community College in 1974 and Pace University in 1979 both of New York, New York.

Nettie was employed at the New York Telephone/NYNEX Service Company/Verizon, Telesector Resouces Group, Ericsson and Telcordia Technologies Inc. Nettie's well decorated career expanded over forty plus years where she was in charge of Business Operations & Technology Cousulting and a Lead Senior Corporate Consultant in the Telecom Industry. She shattered glass ceilings with her diverse skill set.

Nettie’s motto was, you only live once and you should never limit yourself. Although being passed over for many accolades early on in life, she did not allow that to stop her. She worked hard but she played even harder. She traveled all around the world visiting multiple countries while learning and experiencing new cultures with Winston, her travel buddy and life partner. Nettie was an avid reader and an decoder of brain teasers.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr Louis “Gus” and Earline H. Walker; sisters, Alethia H. Steed; Albertha M. Walker and Reta E. Green; brother, Purcell “Gus” Heyward; grandmother, Louise Nettie Heyward;aunt, Mary Saunders and uncle, Robert “Coco” Heyward, brother-in-law, Owen (Kay) Brown.

Nettie leaves to cherish her memories:her loving and devoted husband of 28 years, Mr. Winston W. O’Reggio; sister, Jenene V. Heyward; goddaughter, Bonita Annette Steed, brothers-in-law, Mr. Otto B. German and Milton Brown, sisters-in-law, Juanita Heyward, Merna Brown, Linda Brown and Janet Brown;aunt-in-law, Ruby Heyward; children by marriage, Andre(Silvia) O’Reggio, Tracey (James) O’Reggio-Clark; grandchildren by marriage, Mylana Aster O’Reggio and Sage Tatianya O’Reggio a hosts of niece, nephews, cousins and special friends.
