Nila Jean Riemann

Fort Mill – Nila J. Riemann, 84, died June 28th, 2021 at Wellmore  of Tega Cay Assisted Living Facility in Fort Mill, SC.  She was born January 5th 1937 In Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Elnor Ole Arnold Stadheim and Blanche Verna Stadheim (Knutson).

Nila graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls and attended the University of South Dakota where she met Jim Riemann.  They were married on June 8th, 1958 and settled in Rapid City, SD. Jim was hired by IBM and they relocated to St. Paul, MN in 1960.   Jim’s career in the banking industry for IBM took the family all over the country and world, including relocating to Edina, MN - Stamford, CT, Rochester, MN – Edina, MN - Princeton, NJ - Charlotte, NC – Bangkok, Thailand – finally settling in the Lake Wylie, SC area since 1990.  Nila thoroughly enjoyed all of the places she lived and traveled.

Nila and Jim were members of River Hills Community Church.  She was an avid tennis player and a member of the River Hills Lunch Bunch and the River Hills Rescue Squad for several years.

Nila and Jim celebrated 62 years of marriage on June 8th, 2020 at Well-More of Tega Cay.  Jim Riemann passed away on March 1st, 2021.  Surviving are her brother John and his wife Lonnie of Las Vegas, NV - her brother Layton and wife Peggy of Andover, MN - her sister Cory and husband Gary of Phoenix, AZ – and brother David and wife Linda of Sioux Falls, SD – her sons Ron and wife Ann of Princeton, NJ – Tom and his wife Lillie of Tega Cay, SC – Dave and his wife Jennifer of Savannah, GA – and daughter Jill and her husband Bill of Walterboro, SC.  Her Grandchildren include Ron and Ann’s son Jeff and daughter Carly, Tom and Lillie’s sons Matthew and Ben, and Jill’s daughters, Angelina and Faith.

A celebration of both Nila and Jim’s lives will be held at River Hills Community Church in Lake Wylie, SC at 11:00am on Saturday, August 14th.  Nila and Jim will be interred at The River Hills/Lake Wylie Cemetery Columbarium Niches.  Those wishing to remember Nila in a special way may make gifts to a charity of their choosing.  Arrangements by Palmetto Funeral Home – Fort Mill, SC.
