Nita Saunders Hopkins

Nita Saunders Hopkins, 90, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013. Born in Forest City, NC, Mrs. Hopkins was the daughter of the late Vernon and Gertrude Saunders. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Hopkins, Jr.; 2 brothers, Charles and Steve Saunders; 3 sisters, Jean McManus, Hazel Modrall, and Margaret Ford. She is survived by 3 sons, James V. Hopkins, III, Charles M. Hopkins (Sue E.), and Gregory Dean Hopkins (Amy N.); a sister, Betty Pethel; 6 grandchildren, Anne, Carol, Jacob, Matthew, James (Jaime), and Joshua Hopkins; a great-grandchild, Riley Hopkins. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hopkins will be held 3pm Sunday, December 1, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. John E. Cole officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Capital Building Fund, 234 East Main St. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
