Norman Lee Cleva

Norman Lee Cleva, 83, of Tega Cay, SC passed away on March 31, 2025. Norm was born in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from North Alleghany High School. After high school, he joined the Navy and specialized in basic dentistry and dental prosthetics. As a young adult, Norm designed dental offices, sold houses, managed the family parking lot business, and spent a year living on his boat sailing the Bahamas and Caribbean Sea. In 1987, he married Sandra and started a printing franchise, Pip Printing, which he later rebranded as NoSa Ink. In 2014, Norm and Sandy sold their business and their house in Pittsburgh and moved to Tega Cay, SC to embrace the southern lake life.

Norm led an active lifestyle and had numerous interests. In addition to sailing, golfing, tennis, skiing, and lifting weights, he was a two time (1986 and 1992) National Judo Champion in the Masters Division. Norm enjoyed playing classical music on his guitar while wearing his “macho man” t-shirt and cut-off sweat shorts. He loved all dogs and was often referred to as “the dog whisperer.” Prior to becoming a parishioner at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, Norm served as Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg, PA.

Norm is preceded in death by his father, Urbino Cleva; mother, Christine Serrao Cleva; and brother, Stanley Cleva. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Scheeser) of Tega Cay, SC; daughter, Brittany (Vockel) and her husband, Brian Grey, of Huntersville, NC; and many extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Norm’s funeral mass will take place on Friday, April 11 at 2pm at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road East, Fort Mill, SC. Prior to mass, there will be a military honor ceremony. Mass will be followed by a reception at the church. All are welcome to attend.
