ROCK HILL - Omie Joann Shurley Brown, 67, of 3456 Passmore Drive, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Agape Senior Living.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Catawba Ward, with the Rev.s Dennis Ayers, Lee Ayers, and Barry Howell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born in Lancaster, S.C., Joann is the daughter of the late Gary Shurley and the late Alma Hinson Shurley. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Covenant Church of God, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She loved going to yard sales with her daughter and loved to tell everyone about the love of God. Her husband was the true love of her life.

Joann's final thought was to her husband, children, brothers, sisters and friends; Don't cry for me, I've waited for this day. If you are not saved, please do this so I can see all of you again.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Lester Brown Sr.; six sons, Greg Collins (Carrie), Donald Lester Brown Jr. (Sissy), Joey Brown (Terri), Wayne Brown, Rick Brown (Tammy), Billy Brown; three daughters; Donna Brown Bruce (Jason), Cindy Brown Boone, and Teresa Brown Cartwright; two brothers; Jack Shurley and Tommy Shurley; two sisters; Jean Shurley Horne and Freda Shurley Price; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Shurley.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Wednesday at the church.
