Patrick K. Shay

Patrick K. Shay, 78, of Indian Land, SC passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was born in White Plains, NY on October 17, 1934 to the late, John and Loretta Brown Shay. He was a long time resident of White Plains, NY; a graduate of White Plains High School - class of 1952. Mr. Shay also served in the Korean War. He belonged the American Legion in White Plains, NY and the Elks Lodge in Murrells Inlet, SC. As an avid golfer, he golfed with the Taconic League in NY, the Elks League and the Snow Birds in SC. Mr. Shay was a very caring husband, father and grandfather; he coached all three of sons little league teams and never missed any of their other games or activities. He loved his grandchildren and each was very special in their own way. Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother, John. Mr. Shay is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia Danielson Shay; three sons, Michael and his wife, Janice; Richard "Ricky" and his wife, Barbara; Daniel and his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan, Meagan, Kerri, Kyle, Katie, William and Steven; his brother, Joseph; his sister, Loretta DiLeo; along with numerous other family members. Services will be held at a later date in White Plains, NY.
