Pearl Baker

Pearl Baker, 88, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014. Born in Greenwood, SC, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Thomas William Cooper and Lillie Owens Cooper. She worked many years as a patient sitter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Baker; 2 sons, Dennis L. Baker and his wife Wanda, and Paul D. Baker. She is survived by her children, Mae C. Hunsucker (Kenny), Carol McGraw, Tommy Baker, Gary Dean Baker (Priscilla), Robert Lee Baker (Sheila); 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Baker will be held 2pm Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hogg, Rev. Barry Yates and Steve Shockwell officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemtery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at her son Gary's home located at 1229 Christopher Cir. Rock Hill, SC 29730. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care or to the American Cancer Society.
