Indian Land, SC – Mrs. Pearl Roberta Blackwelder Snipes, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024, at her home.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Lancaster Highway, Fort Mill, SC, 29707. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with burial in the church cemetery.
A native of Indian Land, SC Mrs. Snipes was a daughter of the late Cecil Harris Blackwelder and Doris Hawfield Blackwelder. She loved doing crafts, especially crocheting and working puzzle books and puzzles. She was a florist and enjoyed working with flowers. She will be remembered as a humble and sweet lady. When she hugged, you did not just receive a physical hug, but she had the ability to hug your soul. She loved spending time with her family. In her younger years she was an active member of United Faith Assembly of God where she served in the Women’s Ministry and taught Sunday School. She always loved Lighthouses.
Surviving are three children, Kathryn Craig (Wayne), Jack Snipes, and Ervin Carpenter; a sister, Judy Cook; and a granddaughter, Hanna Snipes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Snipes, Sr.; siblings, Cecile Sloan, Jeanette McLemore, Harry Blackwelder, and Nancy Strickland.
