Peggy Glasscock

June 3, 1931 — January 5, 2013

Peggy June Pearson Harrison Glasscock, 81, of Catawba, SC passed away January 5, 2013 at her home. Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Glasscock was the daughter of the late Julian and Lucille Williams Pearson. She was a member of the Pistol Club of the City of Rock Hill and of SCLEOA (S.C. Law Enforcement Officers Association). She served as the Chief of Police Secretary for 30 years. Mrs. Glasscock also spent 20 years fundraising for the March of Dimes and was a member of Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church. After graduating Winthrop Traning School, she attended Winthrop College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hutchinson E. Harrison, her second husband, Robert S. Glasscock, her sister, Barbara Whitner and a nephew, Stephen Whitner. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Pettit of Catawba, SC; 2 sons, Julian and Allan Harrison, both of Rock Hill, SC, 5 grandchildren, Alena Grantham, Leay Phifer, Daniel Harrison, Sara Johnson, Chloe Harrison, and a nephew, Lyle Whitner, III. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Glasscock will be held 2pm Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Neely's Creek ARP Church with the Rev. Heiko Burklin officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30-2:00pm. Memorials may be made to Agape Community Hospice 1317 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732, Carolinas ALS Center 1010 Edgehill Road N. Charlotte, NC 28207 or to Neely's Creek A.R.P Church General Fund 974 Neelys Creek Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
