Peggy Ann Blair Walters

York, SC - Peggy Ann Blair Walters, 78, of Gaffney, SC, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Whitesell Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM.  Followed by a Celebration of Life, at 425 Gray Dove Lane, York, SC, 29745.

Peggy was born in Gaffney, SC, to Roy and Thelma Blair on February 15, 1945.  She worked as a Selector for Smith Enterprises for 15 years.  Peggy, also lovingly known as Grandma Peggy or Gigi, loved working in her flower garden, fishing and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her children, Deborah Timmons (Randy), Horace “Pete” Walters (Wendy), Hoss Walters and Toni Huffstetler; her sister, Shirley Eddington; her brother, David Blair; her grandchildren, Billy Hartness (Alex), Tina McDaniel, Steven Walters, Ashley Walters, Sammie Jo and Kaycee Hufstetler, and Lorne Walters; and her great grandchildren, Brycen Timmons, Landon Driver, Braydon and Briar Hartness, Alyssa Walters, and Sofia Gill.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Thelma Blair; her husband, Horace ”RED” Walters; daughters, Carolyn and Marolyn Walters; her brothers, RB and Ed Blair; and her sisters, Virginia Eddington, Carolyn Key and Lynn Allman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Julie Hefner, Donna Morton and Lynette Therrien for the love and support through this journey.  We would also like to thank Peggy’s nurse Amy Graham for the care and compassion she showed.
