A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mr. McGuire was a son of the late Grier McGuire and Ollie Thornwell Perry McGuire. He graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended the University of SC and Clemson College. He served as a clerk/typist in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Celanese in their Charlotte office and later worked for SC Employment Security Commission as the claims supervisor until he retired. He was a faithful member of the Lesslie Church of God, where he led the Read Through the Bible Every Year group. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, facilitating games, taking pictures, discussing trivia, telling a joke, pulling a prank, and sharing the many stories of his life. He loved generously and was quick to give. He will be remembered as a great man who always thought of others. He was an example of what a Christian man should be like. He never tried to impress anyone, but the more you got to know him, the more impressive he became. He was always a responsible man who kept his word.
