Philip John Caliendo, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on 11/17/21in South Carolina.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mary (Salerno) Caliendo. He is survived by his adored and cherished family. Wife of 58 years, Cynthia (Cheslock); daughter, Glenna; son, Philip C.; daughter, Cindy Robichaud and husband Matt; sister, Mary Ellen Collins and her son, Matthew and his six grandchildren; Drew, Ashley, Ben, Eva, Gregory and Cali.  He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in New Haven, CT, Philip graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of ’57 and Providence College, class of ’61 and was proud to be a medic in the Armed Forces of the United States Reserves for eight years.  In 1980 he embarked upon a business venture that turned into a thriving and successful company, Purchasing Consultants.  Pursing his passion for horseracing, PurCon Stables was born, where he thoroughly enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. Philip’s hobbies included dance, bowling, golfing, piano, and horseracing.  His most precious outings were spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their special events.  His family meant the world to him.
