Philip John Lazzara, Jr., 61, of Indian Land, SC, and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 12th in Charlotte, NC after a prolonged illness. Phil was born on June 26th, 1950 and grew up in Pittsburgh, the son of Mary (Bartony) Lazzara of Cheswick, PA and the late Phil Lazzara, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton and retired from Halko & Company, Inc. in Pittsburgh, where he worked as a real estate appraiser. In addition to being a devoted family man, Phil loved tennis, music, philosophy, writing, and photography. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Joyce Lazzara; his two daughters, Robin (Chris) Kick of Annapolis, MD, and Adrian Lazzara of New York City; his brother Dan Lazzara of Monroeville; his sister-in-law Carole (Fred) Guest of New York City; his two nephews David Lazzara and Jeremy Laughlin; and his loyal dog Ginger. His death was preceded by his late sister Diane Laughlin. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
