Pit Plankenhorn

October 25, 1997 — November 27, 2019

The Plankenhorn and Wolf family would like to inform the Fort Mill and greater community of the passing of our dear brother, son, and friend Pit Plankenhorn. At 22, Pit took his own fate into his hands and made the decision to end his life on the 27th of November 2019. We hold him in our hearts and memories, sending all the love in the world after him as he finally finds peace. We uplift his spirit in our minds and those in our community and wish you to think of him as we do, as a loving, laughing, curious individual who, although seemingly quiet and reserved, felt deep emotion and passion about the world. Pit read and sat on his computer when not at work, but he also saw more of the world than many his age. Pit travelled all over Europe, from the great Northern reaches of Sweden, to the maze-like canals of Venice. With his family, Pit brought smiles to the faces of Paris when he wheeled by in his Heely's. Pit has swum in the Mediterranean and seen ruins of ancient civilizations on Crete. He has walked through New York on Thanksgiving and shielded his eyes from the Las Vegas sun while glimpsing the earth's truest red colors in the canyons. He has hiked in the Smoky Mountains and breathed the salty air of Charleston, favorite childhood adventure spots. Pit experienced more life in his short 22 years than many do in a lifetime of 70 years or more. Not always loving every moment, he came along when he was able and did his best to love his family and share a smile.
Pit leaves behind Katrin (mother) and Heiko (father) as well as siblings Lia, Tim, Luzy, and Mel. He leaves loving relatives in Germany and far-off friends in his gaming universe. Of those who will love and miss him always are caring pets and a step-family, as well as friends from work, school, and boy scouts. We want to share our loss with our community and make public not only the grief we feel at his early leaving, but the love and joyous memories we hold to cherish always of our dear buddy Pit. May your soul be at peace and your spirit laugh on always, we love you Pit.
