Ralph Kelly Edwards, Sr.

Ralph Kelly Edwards, Sr., born on May 6, 1937 passed at Serenity House in Huntersville, NC on September 8, 2018. A life long resident of the Steele Creek community, Ralph volunteered and helped establish the Steele Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue. He retired from Charlotte Department of Transportation and upon retiring owned and operated Edwards Lawn Maintenance. Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Nivens Edwards, his parents and siblings: Ola Mae Price Edwards (mother) and Henry Rufus Edwards (father), Kenneth Edwards (brother), John David Edwards (brother), Billy Price Edwards, Sr. (brother), Harold Edwards (brother) and his sister Edith Edwards Stilwell.
Ralph enjoyed traveling to the North Carolina mountains and loved playing and listening to blue grass music. He is survived by two sons: Ralph Kelly Edwards, Jr. and his wife Theresa and Robert Henry Edwards. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Loren Waldrop and her husband Markus; Brian Malone, Sr.; Ralph Kelly Edwards, III and his wife Catherine and William Edwards; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his beloved chihuahua, Rosie.
A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Crown Memorial Park located at 9620 Rodney Street, Pineville, NC with Reverend Ronnie Green officiating. Pallbearers included his grandsons. Arrangements were handled by Palmetto Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fort Mill, SC. Online condolences may be made at www.Palmettofh.com.
