Our loving and compassionate husband, Daddy, Pawpaw, brother, son, and friend, Randall LaVon Blue, Sr., 77, of Rock Hill, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Randall was born Dec. 20, 1933 on the Catawba Indian Reservation in Rock Hill, SC, to the late Henry LeRoy Blue and Era Mae Bodiford Blue. As a Sergeant in the United States Marines Corps, he served in the Korean War. He retired from Continental General Tire with over 30 years of service, and York County with over 10 years of service. Randall was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Columbia, SC Temple. He was also a High Priest and Home Teacher among other callings in the church. Randall enjoyed gardening, working, and his family. Randall is survived by his wife of 33 years, B.S. Blue; his son, Randall LaVon (Tania) Blue, Jr. of Frederick, MD; his daughters MaLinda Blue (Mark) Swett, of Hardeeville, SC; Kathy Blue (Phil) Griffis, of Ridgeland, SC; Crystal Blue (Mike) Casler, of Rock Hill, SC; one stepson, Roy (Karen) Helms, of Rock Hill, SC; two stepdaughters, Rehna (Dane) Loflin, of Rock Hill, SC; Yvonne (Donnie) Wood, of Corbin, KY; three brothers, Bobby (Betty) Blue, Carson (Susan) Blue of Rock Hill, SC and Harry (Debra) Blue, Troutman, NC; two sisters, Patsy Sloat, Midwest City, OK and Shirley (Eldon) Francisco, Laguna, NM; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; Special Aunts Ella Mae Bodiford Kelley, Montgomery, AL and Elsie Blue George, Rock Hill, SC; Special Uncle, Dewey Bodiford, Highland Home, AL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chief Samuel Taylor and Louisa Canty Blue; Dock and Ersie Malenda Hammond Bodiford and Lou Ella Holley Bodiford; sister, Priscilla Blue Johnson and brother-in-law, Lamar Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Catawba Ward, 1989 Reservation Road, Rock Hill, SC, with Bishop Benjamin Gleason officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, in Rock Hill. Burial will be in Rock Hill Memorial Gardens Veterans Section.
