Fort Mill – Mr. Ranger Floyd MaHaffey, 68, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, December 1, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708 with Bishop Kim Robertson officiating.
A native of Richland, SC, Mr. MaHaffey was a son of the late Otis Carl MaHaffey and Estalene Starnes MaHaffey. He was a devoted husband, father, and brother that loved the Clemson Tigers. He was a simple man that loved to hike, camp, watch the Tigers, and spend time with his family. He kept meticulous records of every mile he hiked and everything he did in life. His dream was to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. He was a native of Fort Mill, SC that played for the Fort Mill Yellow Jacket graduated in 1973 and went on to serve in the United States Airforce as military police. He worked for Blue Max trucking before retiring from Belk in 2016.
Ranger had many friends and never met a stranger, he loved his friends Ray Giles, David Hord, and many others, and felt blessed to have them in his life until his last days. If you knew Ranger you were lucky, he always kept you on your toes and guaranteed a good belly laugh. Ranger will be missed by his family and friends greatly.
Surviving are his wife, Lori Ann C ollins MaHaffey; three daughters, Ashleigh Miller (Josh), Sarah Fulghum (Jarrod), and Jessica Whitten (Dave); a brother, Randy MaHaffey; and four grandchildren, Alexis Miller, Ansley Miller, Hope Marley and Ashley Marley. He was preceded in death by a twin Brother, Tommy MaHaffey and a granddaughter, Olivia Miller.
