Ray Thomas McClanahan, Jr., 80, of 175 Mackey Lane, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center. A native of York County, Mr. McClanahan was born February 10, 1931 son of the late Ray Thomas "Bub" McClanahan, Sr. and the late Christine Walker McClanahan. He was a retired glass glazer and member of Catawba Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Surviving are his wife Bernice Mackey McClanahan; seven children: Lorenzo McClanahan of Catawba, Frank McClanahan and wife Ora of Lancaster, Dexter McClanahan and wife Deborah of Atlanta, Reginald Culp and wife Emmajean of Columbia, Ester McClanahan of Catawba, Marlowe McClanahan of Catawba, Bernita Gray and husband Jimmy of Catawba, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; special mention Mackey McClanahan and Olivia Gray A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. McClanahan will be held Friday at 1:00pm at Catawba Chapel A.M.E. Zion church with Pastor Loretta English officiating.
