Ray Plyler
FORT MILL: Mr. Ray Walter Plyler, 85, of 1560 Williams Road, died Monday February 15, 2010 at Hospice House in Rock Hill.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Fort Mill Church of God with the Revs. David Kemp, Benny Green and
Debbie Dykes officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
Born in Monroe, N.C., Mr. Plyler was the son of the late Carl and Mattie Broome Plyler. He was retired from Springs Industries after 47 years of employment and was a WW II Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God for more than 61 years and served the Fort Mill area as a master carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Billie N. Plyler ; a son, Gary Plyler and wife Carole; a daughter, Sherry Farley and husband Darrell; A step-son,
Mike Fling; two step-daughters, Amber Aiton and Danna Hancock; one brother, Lewis Plyler; and three sisters, Nettie Mae Aycoth, Dorothy Ross,and Noraleen Smith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace K. Plyler and a son, Darrell Plyler.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8 P.M. at the church.
