York – Mr. Raymond “Ray” Lee Lichtenberger, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Memorial service will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Mt. Prospect UMC, 2543 Mountain Gap Road, Richburg, SC 29729.
A native of Decatur, IN, Mr. Lichtenberger was a son of the late William Henry Lichtenberger and Ina Mae Finkhousen Lichtenberger. Ray was an Army Veteran who served his country proudly. His passion was the construction industry, and he was employed for many years in the construction and maintenance field for Shoney’s, Captain D’s, and Hungry Fisherman. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family, fishing, the outdoors, his cats, spending time with his friends and eating at Golden Corral.
Ray is survived by his two sons, Mitchel Stookey and his wife, Pam and Joe Lichtenberger and his wife Laurie; a stepdaughter, Amber Perkins; a sister, Betty Beer of Richburg, SC; 6 grandchildren, Scot, Rob, Josh, Harleigh, Jalani, and Zyler; and his special friend, Amie Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lichtenberger; a son, Raymond Harley Lichtenberger; three sisters, Fern Walker, Mary Double, and Kathryn Sanders; and three brothers, Lawrence Lichtenberger, Carl Lichtenberger, and Lloyd Lichtenberger.
