Rev. Carlos Nichol Dorsey,Sr.

Rev. Carlos Nichol Dorsey Sr., Age 77 went home to be with his savior, Friday February 28, 2014. Rev. Dorsey was born on October 13, 1936 in Passaic, N.J. to the late Robert L. Dorsey Sr. and Marian (Celona) Dorsey. He graduated from Scranton H.S where he was an accomplished athlete. He served his country in the United States Army. While serving he received a silver plate award (track and Field) an Olympic relay race in 1957, Korwestheim Deutchland. Rev. Dorsey, at an early age realized he had a knack for working with many different people, which served him well in the various professions he pursued. These included, hotel and retail management, kitchen and bath design, as well as a "Down to Earth" entrepreneur. In 1989 Rev. Dorsey surrendered to the call of full time ministry and faithfully served until his retirement in 2001. Carlos, is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Juanita; their 3 children, Robyn L. (Mike) Staton, Carlos N. (Wendy) Dorsey Jr., and Rev. Todd M. (Mary) Dorsey; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Tim, Nate, Joseph, Nicholas, Thomas, Sam, Madison, Chandler and Ethan, as well as 6 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6-7 PM on Thursday Mar 6, 2014, at Carolinas Cornerstone. Funeral services will be held at Carolinas Cornerstone at 7 PM, Thursday Mar 6, 2014 with Pastor Barry Yates officiating. Internment will follow at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina on Friday Mar 7, 2014 at 11 AM.
