Mrs. Rhonda Ann Snipes Windell, 60, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
Rhonda was born on July 11, 1959 in Rock Hill, SC to the late James Snipes and the late Shirlee Winn Snipes Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hyder (Billy) Windell Jr, her sister Stacie Hill, and sister-in-love Benita Windell Patterson. She graduated from Northwestern High School and York Technical College.
Rhonda was employed by Tega Cay Animal Hospital for many years. She loved every single day of her job, and got to help care for many fur-babies during her time there. She always had a soft spot in her heart for animals, and loved every one she saw. She also had a caring heart for friends and family, and would give a meal, or a place to stay, to anyone who needed it.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Scott Hill and wife Amy, nephew Cameron, nieces Cassidy and Courtney; mother-in-love Juanita Windell, sister-in-love Linda Carol Windell; nephews Josh (Terra) Patterson and Ashley (Julie)Patterson, three great-nephews, and one great-niece, and numerous friends, including her most special caregiver, Carol Lowery, her life-long friend Barbara Barnes, and many others.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Providence Hospice (Kathy, KiKi, LaVisa, and Pauline) for their loving care during this hard time. Rhonda loved each and every one of them, and was loved by each of these ladies in return. They all went above and beyond to show what a true caregiver is, and each of them has shown that working with Hospice is a calling and a ministry, and one only entrusted by God to the most special of people.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm in the chapel. Graveside service will follow at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ken Terry and Rev. Shannon Ford will be conducting services for Rhonda.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Care Hospice, 1736 Old York Road, York, SC 29745, or Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Pkwy, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
