Richard Lamarr Kimbrell, Jr

Richard "Rick" LaMarr Kimbrell, Jr., age 60, of Heath Springs passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born on February 13, 1958, he was the son of the late Mr. Richard LaMarr Kimbrell, Sr. and Laura Collins Kimbrell. Richard graduated from Indian Land High School in 1976. On May 25, 1985, he married Sherry Moore. Together, they had three sons: Michael, Brian, and Kevin. Richard and Sherry enjoyed traveling together as well as spending time with family and friends. Richard was a truck driver for Builders Supply in Lancaster, SC. Richard was an Eagle Scout and former Scout Master of Boy Scouts of America Troop 275 where his leadership and presence impacted young minds. Some of his favorite times were spent caring for his family, riding his motorcycle with his wife, kayaking with his sons, playing with his grandchildren, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, and beekeeping. He was an auto-mechanic and a master of all trades. Richard was known for his hard work and integrity. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Sherry Kimbrell of Heath Springs; his sons, Michael (Erin) Kimbrell, Brian (girlfriend Erica Bradley) Kimbrell, and Kevin (girlfriend Alyson Stiles) Kimbrell; two grandchildren: Madison Kimbrell and Wyatt Kimbrell; his mother Laura Kimbrell; his sisters Laurie (Marty) Wilson and Sallie (Kevin) Blaylock; his mother-in-law Betty Moore; his brothers-in-law Lynn (Lisa) Moore and Jason (Teresa) Moore; his sister-in-law Tanya (Paula) Leonhardt; his nephews Jeremy (Taryn) Huggins, Shawn (Angie) Ervin, Andrew Moore, Andrew Wilson, and Noah Moore; his nieces Kasey (Travis) Pangle, Kristen Ervin, Rebekah (Jake) Pippin, Meghan Moore, Samantha Kimbrell, and Aimee Moore; his great nephews Christopher Ervin, Cameron Pangle, Travis Ervin, Walker Pangle, Clint Pippin; and his great nieces Alexis Huggins, Hailey Thomas, Madilyn Thomas, and Audrey Pippin. Richard was preceded in death by his father Richard L. Kimbrell, Sr., his sister Susan M. Kimbrell, and his father-in-law Banks C. Moore. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at three o'clock pm at Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Road, Lancaster, SC. Pastor Brian Saxon, Pastor Ronnie Boone, and Rev. Roger Brown will be officiating. The family will greet friends after the service.
