Richard John "Ricky" Mercer

Richard J. "Ricky" Mercer, 53, loving husband, father, and PopPop, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He worked at Hall Dielectric for 23 years and attended Forward Church of God. Ricky loved spending time with his many friends, work in his shop, pulling pranks, spending time on the lake driving "Grady White", and fishing. He never met a stranger and was always the "go to" friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Amos Mercer; his natural mother, Heidi Tanner; two brothers, Ray and Greg Dyches. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Mercer; daughter, Jessica Trader; the joy of his life and best friend, his granddaughter, Cadence Wilford; mother, Barbara Mercer; two brothers, Bobby Mercer, Phil Dyches of Rock Hill SC and Eric Hudson of Utah; three sisters, Lori Haskett, Denna Mercer of Rock Hill SC and Michelle Drowne of New York. A funeral will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time Thursday at the funeral home or at the home of the family at any time.
