Richard Alan Scott

Richard Alan Scott, 73, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on January 12, 2025, after a short illness.

He was born March 16, 1951 in Canton, OH. He was the son of the late Vera Mae Scott and Steven Junior Scott. 

He and his family resided in Green, OH, before making a company move to Fort Mill, SC, in 1994.

Richard attended The University of Akron and, upon graduation, made a lifelong career at Continental Tire the Americas, LLC for 43 years. He retired in 2016.

Richard’s greatest joys in life were spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling the world for both business and pleasure.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Scott; son, Douglas Scott and his wife, Mary Scott; daughter, Lindsay Floyd and her husband, Brandon Floyd; grandchildren, Maggie, Clark, Maxwell, and Paige; brother, Jimmie Scott, and his wife, Victoria Scott.

The family will hold a private celebration of life.
