Ricky Ray Boatwright

Rock Hill, SC – Ricky “Bugar” Ray Boatwright, died Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his home.

 Memorial services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

 A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Boatwright was a son of the late Sam Boatwright and Clara Rainey Boatwright. He was the owner and manager of Rick’s Used Cars in Rock Hill, SC. He was an avid race fan, and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhart. He was a member of the Studebaker Club and was the only member who had raced in a Studebaker. Anyone who knew him knows that he loved to cut grass on his Bad Boy lawnmower. He was of the Baptist faith.

 Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Sandra Boatwright; a daughter, Renee’ Boatwright-Rieger (John); a brother, Billy Boatwright (Linda); a grand-dog, John, Jr. and his special friends who were just like family He was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Boatwright; two brothers, Fred Boatwright and Jerry Boatwright; and a sister, Ommie Walker.

 Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital  or Hospice and Community Care.
