Rita Francine Durham

Rita Francine Blanchard Durham, 88, of Morningside Assisted Living, formerly of 141 A Glenwood Drive, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A native of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Durham was born July 4, 1920, a daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Sara Veronica Harrigan Blanchard. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Edward Durham. Mrs. Durham was a beloved mother, grandmother and wife. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Ann Kestler of Elon, NC, Janet Louise Medina of Roanoke, VA, and Julie Marie Durham of Ft. Mill; all are formerly of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Mrs. Durham will be held Monday at 3:00pm at The Oratory in Rock Hill. The family will receive friends after the service Monday in the Pope John Center. Interment will be at 11:00am Tuesday at Carolina Memorial Park in Charleston, SC.
