Robert Chester Bergvist

Robert Chester Bergvist 75 passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at CMC-Pineville. Born in Jersey City, NJ; Mr. Bergvist was the son of the late Melvin and Eleanor Bergvist. He served in the US Marine Corps, was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill where he volunteered. Mr. Bergvist also volunteered with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance after Hurricane Katrina. He loved to fish, golf and do craft work. He was a volunteer policeman and fireman for Tega Cay, SC. He was retired from Rutland Plastics in Pineville, NC. A memorial service will be held at the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708 at 5:00pm on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 with Rev. Jeannie Bickett officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mr. Bergvist is survived by his wife: Barbara Bergvist of Pineville, NC, two sons; Scott Bergvist and wife Ramona of Tega Cay and Glenn Bergvist and wife Vanessa of Fort Mill, his daughter Amy Morgan and husband Trey of Fort Mill, his sister Joyce Lynn and husband Peter of Naples, Florida and six grandchildren; Luke, Jacob, Kaylee and Caroline Bergvist and Savannah and Jackson Morgan.
