Robert F. Coleman

October 11, 1943 — July 10, 2010

Robert F. "Bob" Coleman, 66, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. A native of Great Falls, Montana, Mr. Coleman was born October 11, 1943, a son of the late James Allen and Katie Rietz Coleman. He was retired from Celanese, CTG, and EDS in Charlotte, and was also employed by Kanawha Insurance in Lancaster, and Northern Tool in Ft. Mill. Mr. Coleman was a member of Edgemoor A.R.P. Church where he was as deacon. He was a 1st Class Electrician's Mate in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a 1978 graduate of Winthrop University with a BA in Business. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Vernon Coleman. Surviving are his wife Iris Covington Coleman; a daughter Laurel Hilton and her husband Chris of Rock Hill; a son Matthew Coleman of Philadelphia, PA; a sister Anna Mae Brown of Montana; two grandchildren Coleman Tyler and Carter Thomas Hilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm Monday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter at 2273 Crosstrail Ridge in Rock Hill. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Coleman will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm at Edgemoor A.R.P. Church with Dr. Allen Derrick officiating. Interment will follow at Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgemoor A.R.P. Church, Building Fund, 2135 Starnes Road, Edgemoor, SC 29712 The family would like to thank the staff at Springs Regional Rehabilitation Center, CCU and ICU at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster as well as the staff of CCU, 3rd Floor, and the Emergency Department at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
