Roger Lee Wilder

Roger Lee Wilder, age 90, of Indian Land, SC, formerly of Penfield, NY passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Orchard Park, NY, on May 17, 1934, Roger lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Roger was the beloved husband of 67 years to Natalee (Wilcox) Wilder, who he met in the registration line freshman year of college. He was a proud graduate of Hobart and William Smith College and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Together, Roger and Natalee shared a lifetime of memories and were a testament to enduring love.

Roger is survived by his wife Natalee, daughter, Marcia, grandchildren, Eric (Alannah), Stephanie (Spencer), Noah, great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews who he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark, twin brothers Jack and Joe, parents Bud and Alice.

A longtime resident of Penfield, Roger was actively involved in his community as a member of the Penfield Rotary Club, where he contributed both time and energy to local causes. He was a local realtor with Mitchell Pierson and Douglas Blue for over 45 years and knew almost everyone by their address. Roger will always be remembered for his quick wit, infectious jokes, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He was impassioned by the idea that life was best enjoyed surrounded by family, friends, and good cocktails. He was a man of simple faith, devotion to others, courage, and conviction.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on January 13, 2025, at Harvest Grove Church, 8708 Indian Trail Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd, Rochester, NY 14625, or a charity of your choice.

Roger’s love for family and friends will never be forgotten his memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
