Mr. Ronald David Baltz, age 59, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the garden at his home in Tega Cay, South Carolina. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Ronald and Norma Baltz. He was a loving husband of almost thirty-five years to Nanette Baltz, and a supportive Father and Pop.
The Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 12:00pm in the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Ron D. Baltz graduated from Ursinus College in ‘81 and then completed his Masters in Analytical Chemistry at Villanova University ‘85. He worked as Director of Quality and Laboratory Management for various Chemical Manufacturing Companies throughout the East Coast. He recently furthered his academic studies by completing a Paralegal Certification and enjoyed volunteering as an Intern with the Department of Social Services.
Survivors include his wife Nanette Baltz, along with his two sisters Linda Rose and Denise Baltz, daughter Amy Leigh Baltz, son David Scott Baltz, daughter-in-law Jahnava Farmer, and two grandsons Ganesh Omkar and Jaya Dayson Baltz.
Ron was well known for his gregarious personality, quick wit, and tenacity. Some of his music was published in 2007 for the P & Q's Colorful Journey through the Jungle of Good Manners children's book. He was an avid traveler, racquetball player, as well as bicyclist and motorcyclist. Ron enjoyed performing and jamming with many musicians from all walks of life. A faithful church member, most recently with Bible Baptist Church of Fort Mill, his favorite verse is Philippians 4:11 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
A Graveside Burial service will be held in Jacksonville, Florida at the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the SPG Steinway Award, (administered by Baltz Studio to recognize outstanding musicianship) and can be made payable to The Baltz Studio or to Nanette Baltz or to a charity of your choice.
