Ronald Eugene Moore

Rock Hill - Bishop Ronald Eugene Moore, 82, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Pruitt Health of Rock Hill.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, York Ward, 1130 East Alexander Love Highway, York, SC 29745, with Bishop Michael Fear Officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

A native of Peoria, IL Bishop Moore was a son of the late William Riley Moore and Frances Clawson Moore. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service during which he served two tours in Vietnam. He taught Air Force Jr. ROTC for 22 years, 13 of those years being at Northwestern High School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, York Ward. He was called twice by God to serve his church as Bishop.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Cherry Moore; four daughters, Tracey Phenix and her husband, Claude of Louisville, KY, Susan Titus and her husband, Sam of Blythewood, SC, Julie Jones and her husband, Danny of Rock Hill, and Frances Munro and her husband, Tom of Castle Rock, CO.; a sister, Beverly Turman and her husband, Amos of Decatur, IL; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carthy Moore and Robert Moore and three sisters Mary June Moore, Reba Moore and Marguerite Moore.
