Ronald Alan Schenk, 63, of Charlotte, NC passed away on December 31, 2018 and claimed afterwards, "Tis but a scratch!"

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Palmetto Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, the family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Ron was born in Charlotte to Walter and Dorothy Schenk on June 28, 1955. He was raised in Shelby and graduated from Crest High School prior to joining the United States Air Force in 1976. He married the sunshine of his life, Melinda Louise Fischer on September 25, 1982. He had a successful career in Information Technology, working for Duke Power, Duke/Fluor Daniel, and Microsoft until he retired in 2016. He was a veteran Sergeant of the United States Air Force.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Schenk, his brothers, Mike Schenk and Dale Schenk both of Shelby, and his faithful yellow lab, Duke.

Ron is survived by his wife, Melinda Fischer Schenk of Fort Mill, son, Ryan Schenk (Hope Kendrick) of Fort Mill, sister Linda Rippy of Shelby, grandson Cameron Fischer Schenk of Fort Mill, and that GD Dog, Mop.

He apologizes in advance that he is busy and unable to attend but to ensure that everyone "Always Looks on the Bright Side of Life".
