Ronzie Eugene (Butch) Butts of Fort Mill, SC passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.
Ronzie was born in Muskegon, MI on July 27, 1948, to father Frederick Eugene Butts and mother Pearlie Mae Johnson. He was their only son of four children.
He is predeceased in death by his parents, his sister Freddie Mae Thornton and granddaughter Tiarra Wade. He is survived by his wife Greta Waldron Butts; daughter Tausha Butts; sister Cynthia Fox and her husband David; sister Tealer Genell Knighton, his five grandchildren, Taquietta Butts, Tiekuan Wade, James Wade Jr., Jamarri Wade and Shamari Hamilton and 11 great grandchildren; his cousins Pat Lange and Bernadine Trist and many additional cousins, extended family and numerous friends.
Ronzie had a love of football, especially college football. In high school, he held the position of “running back” on his school’s team, the Muskegon Heights Tigers. And he was a diehard Oklahoma Sooners fan.
He retired from the Wastewater Plant of Public Works for the city of Omaha, Nebraska. He was a Vietnam War Airforce Veteran.
The family would like to thank the Atrium Health (Pineville) facility and the McWater House, Hospice of Union County, for their dedication to their work and patients during these difficult times. Your compassion and kindness were much appreciated.
