Mrs. Rosalind Blair Gwin, 89, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Florida. A native of Saluda, Mrs. Gwin was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruby Branch. Born on April 23, 1921 she was a member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church and attended Winthrop College. She enjoyed writing poetry and stories about her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rembert H. Gwin; a brother Strother Branch; and a sister Trudith Walton. Surviving are her son Hartwell Gwin and wife, Sylvia of Rock Hill; daughters Judy York and husband, Chuck of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Blair Gillespy also of Jacksonville, and Melody Holman of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren Amanda Gillespy, Larry Plyler, Glenn Plyler all of Rock Hill, Lisa Morales, Russell Hall, and Keith Hall all of Jacksonville, Angie Parker of Charlotte, and Chris Gwin of Fort Mill; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gwin will be held Friday, December 31, 2010 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Mt. Holly United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends from ten o'clock until the hour of service in the family life center. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Gwin to the Motor Vittles Fund c/o Mt. Holly United Methodist Church, 1996 Mt. Holly Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
